August snorted. She couldn't blame him much, who knew what he had been through since the last time she had seen him? Ears pulled back, she stood under the long shadow of one of the larger trees. She glanced at Altair, then at September. She didn't feel like waiting for him to wake up. She'd just explore the place on her own. Shaking her head, she walked away into another grove of trees.

vivian came galloping into the territory after a long run...she looked around for sept or altair even flyte...no one, suddenly her wide nares caught the scen't of a new vix whom had been upon the turf...she nosed the earth, nibbling at the plants in which gaia had instructed her.. then began feasting on the grass, regaining energy...she lifted her visionaries and looked around...she was th only one here and basically and outcast...sept most likely wouldn't care if she left to go looking around the other territories...she had been particurily interested in the wind realm, without a trace of her ever being there or she thought so...she raised her silky plume into the air, craned her nape and set off at a gallop to go searching around the wind realm..maybe she would find a loving home...and it was up to the leader if she became lead...she galloped swiftly and happended to pass sept in a blur of motion...he pelt was barely visible as she raced by...she flickered her ears and galloped on...

later -
Sept awoke with a start, suddenly awake and ready to go. No sign of Altair, Flyte, Vivian, or August. Well, he wanted to do something. Perhaps go see if there's another mare. Yup, that's all he could do in his spare time. Sept got up, wincing on his sore leg. Oh well. A walk to the claiming hills it is then. He yawned then began to walk on, disappearing into the green trees and out into the wide open. The sky was glowing with a blood red color, the sun beginning to set. The mountains of Echo stood out among the beautiful setting. Then he saw her, racing out just like he was. Vivian! Wait! But she was gone. Sept flattened his ears, not wanting to pursue her. If that was the way it was so supposed to be, so be it. She could find someone else. Someone better than he was.

Altair watched as Vivian disappeared over a rise with Sept calling after her. Typical of the mare to do so. Her ears pinned against her skull as well. A failure. That's what Vivian was. A failure. Most likely ambitious to be the lead of a different herd. There were too many airheads on this planet, always with their mind on being the lead of one herd or the other, and they generally did not make good leads. Should she return she would leave with a few bad scratches. She trotted over to Sept, her ears forward. Altair's sour thoughts towards Vivian dissolved to be replaced with warmth for her stallion. She brushed up against him in an attempt to comfort him. Leave her. There are those like her, and the best thing to do is just to let them go. She said in a calm voice. Altair was not sure if he would appreciate it or not, some stallions just liked to be left alone when a member of their herd left. She figured she should know Sept well enough by now, and assured herself that he would not be irritated. Then again, she had never been with him when a herd member left. There was Book, but they did not actually watch her leave.
