I have read all the rules and am still puzzled at how the powers work. Can someone explain them a bit more clearly please? Like for example, are you only allowed to use your powers in certain seasons like air in summer and water in winter? Also, for horses that haven't joined with a stallion yet, do they have powers yet or no? Gah I am confused....>.<

Admins pass out karma/favor to players they think did something nice/good.
e.g.
Good Post Nice/Good Attitude Activity etc.
Judged on the amount of power your character has a certain power will be assigned to him/her.
e.g. 50 karma/favor for a fire horse = being able to summon a small flame to burn anywhere.
Make sense? Confusing, I know. ^^

So until an admin tells you that you are awarded this karma, you do not have any powers?

To further explain, mares do not have powers until their element is decided, which is after they are claimed. Of course, the mares can have preference towards which element they join. Your Karma level is shown beneath all of your info i.e. gender, location, posts, etc.

So under no circumstances can they have any powers before they are claimed? I also know what the karma thing is and how it works, because I have been on proboards before. It is just the powers thing and how it is handed out that is confusing. I am sorry to be such a burden here.

No, but the power that they have can be used as soon as she joins a herd and has an element.
