They ticked off in his head. Altair, Flyte, Book. Altair, Flyte, Book. His three mares and his herd. They were good company, as he always thought. Sept tossed his head, slowing from his canter. He slid to a halt, almost toppling head over heels. He remembered all of it faintly. All the horses who had touched his lives when he had arrived here. Sept looked at the waterfall, mesmerized. Of course, he was first met by Hydro who had granted him Astarte in the first place. Next came along darling Hippolyta, who was claimed by Zodiac. Zodiac, that odd fellow. Called him his brother. Sept shook his head, eyes glazed over. Then Altair. As the moment, he thought he had been the most luckiest person in the world to meet her. Intelligent, beautiful. They were completely compatible. Sept liked her, you know he did. Of course, he never showed it. Altair didn't seem to repeat his feelings back. Sept blinked, shifting his weight to an odd position. Then came Flyte. She was a hard nut to crack, he didn't feel like bothering to open it at the moment. Then Book. She was simple enough, a nice mare, good looks. All of them seemed to be potential lead mares. But it was too early now, much too early. Sept stamped a hoof, looking back to see Book. He smiled, taking a look at Astarte. It seemed empty but pure. Just the way it was supposed to be.

ooc: Alright, since everyone else uses this size font. (It's still fun to speak in old english, even if I'm not using it correctly)
Altair's ears pricked at the scent of Sept.. and another mare. She stepped into a graceful, but brisk trot to greet them. A small smile appeared on her face at the sight of her lord, and also to welcome the newcomer. Good eve', Sept. Altair turned to the new mare. Welcome to Astarte, gorgeous is it not? I am Altair, mind thee tell me thy calling? This mare was beautiful, with her coat a soft shade of azure. Altair saw a spark of intellect and virtue in her eyes. Impusively, Altair inclined her head in a small dip of respect. Better friends then enemies. Sept had once more chosen a strong mare to join the herd. She appreciated his kindness, and again, she knew she had made the right choice in choosing to follow Sept. Altair wondered if she would be the one to show this new mare around, as she had Flyte.

Sept nodded to Altair, smiling just the same. She was such a pretty mare, he thought dreamily... No. His mind voice warned him. Of course, it was much too early. He frowned slightly, looking at Book. He looked back at Altair. Good evening. He replied at last, bowing a little. Back to Book. Altair, this is Book. Book, meet Altair. If you wish, I could show you around Astarte. Unless Altair would... He drawled off, grinning at the both of them. He hadn't forgotten when Altair had shown Flyte around as he slept. Thinking of Flyte, he became alert. Where was the other mare? Was she okay? He snorted, stamping a hoof as he looked about for her. No sign... Sept frowned, looking back at the two. The waterfall rumbled, nothing new. A few birds twittered angrily in their homes, arguing about leaving to go south. He grinned, ears swiveling that way to catch their bickering. It was all peaceful in Astarte this glorious day.

Altair's small was soon warped to a wry one. ((wow, odd way to put it lol)) Yes she did remember that. Noticing Sept's alert stance, Altair followed his gaze across the horizon. Flyte. She would probably be here soon.. Altair turned her attention back to Sept and Book. Salutations, Book. Turning to Sept, she said Perhaps we might go as a herd this time? Altair hinted. They were a herd, why not act like it? Altair thought. Inwardly she hid any twinges of jealously. She had gotten to know Sept more than just her lead.. Altair snorted to herself. She did not want any resentment among the other mares.

Sept nodded. Yes, we need only to wait for Flyte. He looked behind him, an ear swiveling to catch any sound that was to make her presence known. He looked back at Altair and Book. Sept smiled, prancing in place for a little bit. He was kind of hyper after today and really wanted to get a good run in, a run where he didn't have to stop himself for colliding with a mare. He remembered when he had met Book. That was an odd greeting..

ooc: Sorry I took so long to post.
Flyte. A shake of the dial and a thump of a hind. The two actions which accompanied the shooting off towards the sound and scent of others. Ears fluttered forwards, her movements suggested complete innocence and a gentle personality, fluid and soft, how wrong. She slowed into a steady trot as horse coloured blobs appeared, sighing in relief. She didn't mind being alone, enjoyed it occasionally but when they all gathered and you were the last one there? A smile yanked her labrums upward, wasn't she always the odd one out?
The trot died out as she neared the three others.. three others, a brisk walk taking its place. Her pelt shone as usual, hazel orbs peering with interest from below a smooth forelock. Tangled tresses fell unruly down the length of her serpentine, legs splattered with.. everything. A somewhat apologetic expression took the place of the still lingering smile, lyrics leaving the ebony tinged maw, aimed at all.
Greetings. Sorry for my.. late arrival, all is well?
Gaze drifted t'wards the mare she hadn't seen previously, a warm smile before she turned to Sept and Altair.

Sept grinned at the sight of Flyte (it rhymed. xD). He bobbed his head in silent greeting. He poked out his muzzle and it brushed against her slightly. He caught himself in an odd moment. Lust. It was beginning to catch him by storm now, like an infection. He felt himself with Altair, then with Flyte. Book he barely knew, but perhaps in the future. He would have to make some decision. Sept blinked, retracting his head slowly. All is well. He murmured in reply to her question, smiling feebly.
[ick again. sorry.]

ooc: Okay, it does not look like Book is about to post, so I'll just continue for now.
Altair saw Sept linger by Flyte's side, and shrugged. Suddenly bored, she trotted off a short distance away from the herd, whre they could no longer see her. After a few minutes she found a small patch of earth not already filled with water, for once. An idea occured to her, she wanted to try something... Altair closed her eyes, and with a mentaleffort thought of the purest, most sweet water, and the oceans great, the waterfalls ever-powerful. She opened her eyes to see nothing. Try again.. something told her she would need practice. The second time she opened her eyes and water slowly started to rise from the earth and pool before her. It was still a small and measly attempt, but it satisfied Altair for now. She felt a sudden hunger at her stomach, and started to crop the surrounding green. She sighed. Sept and the others were probably wondering where she was. Let them wonder, for now. She would be back soon...
Content with her temporary solitude, Altair started into another easy trot back to the herd, hoping she did not cause any discord without saying anything about why or where she had left. Some things just did not need a reason... She halted before the others.

[yeah... i wonder what's up with that.]
Sept watched her go, curious. He followed her cautiously, after a polite nod to the others. He watched her attempt to use her elements, smiling as she did so. It was amazing, what she could already do. As Altair began to walk back, Sept stumbled in his attempt to get back there before her, so it was like he had never left. Apparently, that hadn't worked. He looked at her, smiling sheepishly. Erm. He laughed, looking at all three mares. To think, he had to make a decision on one of them sometime soon.

Altair hadn't realized she was being followed. When she approached the herd and didn't see Sept she started to ask Where--... Then she heard him behind her. So he had followed her. She wasn't expecting that. An awkward smile grew on her maw, soon followed by a laugh. Oh how foolish she had been not to know. She really needed to pay more attention, if not some predator might catch her unawares. But Sept was no predator, and that was fortunate. Altair was not exactly sure why she found it amusing, but she was in a pretty good mood. She was also a touch embarassed, and felt a bit guilty for leaving the herd in the first place without warning, but did not let it get to her too bad. She cleared her throat and straightened herself, but could not help the small smile that still tugged at her mouth.

As Sept's muzzle brushed against her shoulder she looked up, it was nothing he was merely pleased she'd arrived.. wasn't he? A smile lingered on the ebony maw as she listened to his reply then silence. Dragging a hoof across the earth below her gaze remained on Sept a few moments longer, before it was drawn to Altair, who was leaving. She tilted her dial and looked at Sept again, curious as to where she was going. Just as she was going to say something the stallion took off as well. She tilted her dial a little more and looked to the only remaining mare, a look of puzzlement on her features, obviously Sept shared her curiosity as to the destination of Altair.
She shrugged deciding it was none of her business, though her gaze lingered on the spot where they'd stood previously. She blinked and shook her poll lightly, straightening herself to see Altair emerging and hear her words, presumably she hadn't known Sept had followed her..then Sept returned, who was clearly trying to beat her back, no luck. She snorted, now Flyte was confused. A smile tugged at her labrums at Sept's attempt to return before Altair as she rubbed her dial against a foreleg, raising it again to smiles and laughter. She shrugged again, curious as to why Altair had left, boredom most likely but not bothering to ask, none of your business.
She shifted slightly and found it was now Altair she was looking at but could read nothing from her expression, other than a slight amusement. She looked again to Sept, then off into the distance. Silence and boredom creeping once again over the bay femme.
