Flyte listened, though she'd engaged herself in the mildly entertaining activity of counting birds. Pointless, dull but she was restless, it calmed her down. She wasn't going to go charging off about Astarte on her own and so she'd found something to do. The season being Spring many small birds were to be seen, Flyte liked birds. She envied their freedom and that they were without limits, if they wanted to escape the earth they could take to the skies, how she wanted to do that sometimes.. Shaking her head and looking at Altair she picked up on the conversation, her ears flicking forwards at the last comment Altair made and an expression of interest unfolding. Misted Valley? You galloped to Misted Valley? She shook her head slightly, disrupting the neat way in which her mane had fallen and causing her forelock to tumble into her line of sight. Looking now at Altair she tilted her head, speaking directly to the mare, who was now lead alongside Sept. You have no idea how confusing this is. One day you'll have to fill me in on what I missed, it seemed it had a lot of.. impact.
ooc: Posted.. eventually. Muse-less right about now too xP

August nodded her head at Flyte's comment, keeping her eyes trained near Sept. Honestly, what was up with him? She gave her tail a few flicks, listening to the conversation between her cousin and Altair, as well as the trickle of the waterfalls in the background. She bit her tongue and waited, thinking now was not the right time to speak. She did have plenty of things to say, however - It was painful to just keep silent. She squirmed, looking at the two mares and Sept in turn. He's happy, I guess.. She smiled and waited for a break in the conversation. It seemed to come just after Flyte had spoken. Sept? She blurted, before anyone else could say anything. Her tone was higher than usual. She swallowed and smiled weakly. Can I talk to you?

There she was, yet again. Sept's ears flicked downwards in annoyance. Vivian was back, apparently. He'd had enough. Altair was taking care of it, but it was really his job, wasn't it? By the time he had gotten there, the mare had disappeared. Don't show your face around Astarte again, Vivian. We don't want you here. Sept spat as she passed him and he reached out nip her. But his teeth did not graze the fur and he let it be.. She better not return. Ever. He trotted over, feeling refreshed and renewed. His vine cast slipped off and the gash on his leg was shown. The new skin had slowly scabbed over and it would be safe out in the open. On his nose, the cut was crusted with dried blood, but otherwise, he was okay. It had been about a week and Gaia had said, a week would heal him. And he had done all the doctor's orders. Things were looking up. He blinked, looking up at August. Hunh? What is it? He asked curiously, blinking at her.

[Oops. I was supposed to post last night.. Sorry about that. ^^;]
Her ears flattened at the other mare's presence. Someone the herd did not want around? She wondered if she would become the same way, a burden on the otherwise happy group. It was better if she left. But before she did, she had to tell Sept. If he didn't listen, it wasn't her problem. No one back home would be angry. They wouldn't blame her. She took a deep breath, telling herself lies. Now or never. She looked quickly to make sure Altair nor Flyte were near and paying attention before she spoke in quiet, nervous tones. Sept.. I was sent here. By.. She swallowed. May as well get to the point.. But she hadn't considered how difficult this would be. Your father..
[i'm just assuming he's still alive.. he is, right Sept? n.n]

Sept blinked, jaw slack, staring at August. Why did it hit him like that? October had never cared for him like he had cared for November. And he still remembered Sept. Stupid, never-going-to-amount-to-anything Sept. Great. What was wrong now? Did November never come back? Did they need someone to rule over- No. No way. Sept's ears flicked back. Why? WHY. He yelled, enraged. The impertinance of that stallion. I mean really, all he needed was someone to rule over Year. And Sept was that someone. But Sept was also ruling over Astarte.. That's why Sept was so mad. He had a life now. He was never coming home.

ooc: I had that happen once. I had a really long post and then I hit the 'Reset' button instead of 'Modify Post'... and it was gone.

[o.o That must have sucked. Ah well. Gotta rewrite the post. >.<]
August stepped back at his yell. It was a justified reaction, really. With her ears pinned back she lowered her head, looking up at him mournfully through strands of forelock. It wasn't my idea. She said hastily, sending an uneasy glance to Sept's mares. Altair, who he was so awkward around, and Flyte, who he seemed to get along with. She would never expect him to leave his friends and home and go back to Year. But his father did. August watched the waterfalls in silence, giving her cousin a moment to calm down. She sighed, swaying in place. With a frown she studied the land, the trees, the pools. Finally she spoke up. You're not going to, are you? She gazed at him expectantly.

Sept thought a moment. He needed to go home.. He needed to. Mustering up a smile, Sept pursed his lips and thought some more. I think I will... He murmured. Looking back at Altair, Sept remembered how much he loved her. If he was going back to Year, she would be alone. All alone. Except for Flyte though. But still, just one mare for company? No.. He couldn't do that to her. Just... He needed to go home... But not now.. I have.. business to do. He grunted, shifting his weight. How would he ask Altair to have a foal with him?

She looked at him quizzically. He was serious? She sighed, thinking of the welcome that would await them at home. And now.. She gave her head a quick shake. Business, huh? Her voice was almost a whisper as she turned and came face to face with the stream. She looked over her shoulder at Sept, flashing him a tired smile. Right. Exasperated, she started off at a quick trot, nodding to Flyte and Altair as she passed. I'll be back here in two days and we'll run back together, Sept. Don't make me wait! Bolting into a steady canter, August was gone, making sure to avoid sinkholes on her way out.

Sept frowned at her. August, no- But before he could finish, his cousin was off. He snorted, annoyed. Get back here! Without warning, he cantered off after her, straining his newly healed leg as he pushed himself faster and faster to catch up. Wait! He yelled over the whistling wind, wincing at every pounding step. White coat a blur among the green, as they were farther and farther from Astarte...
